Not much of a synopsis this week. We basically have a long therapy session about the state of the program under Wojo after a very bad week of basketball against Butler and Providence. It's a tough pod but hopefully one that helps us get our heads right.

Nice listen.

Your 11 BE wins (including BET) to get an at large is crazy talk but at this point its very close to being moot.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

One thing I still think is pure myth is the idea that conference tournament wins make a significant difference. If we go 8-10, finish in 7th and make a run to the BET Final, I don't think those 3 wins are getting us into the tournament win or lose. I think we'll be so far out going into Wednesday that we won't be able to play ourselves back in. And I don't think it's any different for 9-9 or 10-8. If you are in on Wednesday, you're likely in barring bid thieves. If you are out on Wednesday, you are likely out barring a tourney title.

The committee has team sheets in hand that detail what you did all year long. Their opinions will be formed on those, not the results of a neutral court one-off that is one of 20-80 games being played that day.

I'm going to disagree here somewhat, I think conference games matter, especially for wins against high level opponents (Q1 wins). This is going to be especially true for MU this year as they will likely be the biggest deficiency in MU's resume. If we finish 7th in the conference getting a day two win is going to be critical to compare ourselves to other bubble teams. It's great not to lose to any bad but if you haven't beaten anyone that would show up in the tournament either, that's not a good look.

Despite our four game losing streak, we are the first team out of the tournament at the moment. The bubble is really weak.

They have said as much that tournament wins / loses rarely figure into bids.
