2017-2018 FS1 Telecasts
« on: November 28, 2017, 09:51:23 AM »
Has anyone noticed how FS1 telecasts do not have a team fouls counter any longer? It is driving me crazy. They seem to show how many timeouts each team has at the 5:00 minute mark of each half, but never the foul situation. Last night against EIU when Marquette had foul to extend the game I had no idea how many fouls that were needed before the 1 and 1 started. I really hope they get that fixed because the bonus situation is a huge part of the game and really takes away from the viewing experience.

So, we ESPN will a new scorebug that looks terrible. Too busy. Too much stuff, that is too damm small. School names not spelled out. Shot clock missing in the overtime in Gonzaga and Florida. As for FS1, which is clean but yes, is missing team fouls and team timeouts. Also, FS1 has a nice game on right now with Xavier and Baylor. I love that Brando and Raftery are on FS1!!

I wouldn’t say its necessarily "cleaner" than ESPN's new look this year. At the start of the EIU game Marquette's name was highlighted in yellow then later the same blue as EIU then in the second half beck to yellow. Also, the score switched back and forth all throughout the game (not actual scoring wise, but in the middle of possessions the scores would flop sides). The “bonus” marker would also disappear from time to time. If anything, its sloppier than ESPN and much more of a minimalist approach. ESPN's may be busier, but it’s so much more informative with pertinent game info than FS1's. I would rather have the busy ESPN score view and know how many fouls are in play for the bonus than FS1 where we are left guessing and hoping the announcers will tell us unless we are scoring at home.

Even when I'm in an arena with a big scoreboard, I have my phone out with ESPN.com or some other live score/stat webpage constantly updating.

If in-game stats/info/timeouts/fouls/etc. matter to you so much that you feel the need to complain about it, the solution is simple: take matters into your own hands.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Don't use ESPN.  :o CBS Sports App is pretty good.

I was at the game, so don't really know what happened. As, I've already seen 10 plus games on FS1 this year. I'm fine with it. I remember the days we didn't even have a scorebug. I do agree, the team foul count should be back up, but I don't see it as a big deal.

I find TheScore mobile to be the best app for CBB scores.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.
