Does anyone know of any great hiking places in northern IL/ southeast WI?  Looking for a place that has gradations and where one can bring a dog.  Also would love to know of places where you can do a longer hike (10+ mi).  Thanks!!

Wisconsin state park and part of Kettle Moraine. All sorts of trails with various skill levels. Highly recommend.

Lapham peak.

Second this. Great trails and a great view from the highest point in the state.

Sorry brew, highest point is Timm's Hill north of Medford.  Cool climb up the tower at the top.

Must be misremembering the LP sign. Haven't been out there is over a decade.

Highest elevation, yes.  But not much of a hill to speak of.  Rib Mt., near Wausau, is more impressive.  I think it is the 2nd highest elevation in Wisconsin. And technically, Rib Mt. is also a hill.

Highest point in Waukesha County

Spotcheck Billy

I like the Scuppernong suggestion, we hike there several times in the fall but Pike Lake state park also has nice trails including up Powder Hill.

100% correct zar.  Rib Mt. is actually more impressive and if I'm not mistaken just a few feet lower.  You can see each from the other, roughly 40 miles apart as the crow flies.  That area in general is the highest land in the state.
