Not gonna be easy. Can't see next year's team being as good offensively. Hopefully a top 25-ish offensive team, but not a top 10-ish... and 25-ish may be wishful thinking.

Only 15 players other than Luke had an ORtg of 124 or better and a usage of 20% or higher (40% min minutes played) - see the list below and understand the company he keeps. His 2FG% and OR% were both top 50 in the nation.

I think Froling is going to please fans, but this offense is going to take a hit with Luke gone. Yes, dynamic outside shooting team (which you'd almost have to project to do worse next year because the comp's are so ridiculous), but MU also shot a strong 52.7% 2FG%.

Matt put up strong offensive efficiency numbers, but was barely involved (9% usage; 6.5% %Shots).

Anyway... Luke is a bigger loss than I think a lot of folks appreciate. #Pray

We may end up only being top 25 in offense, but we will likely move up to top 100 in defense.  Overall, we may be better next year without Luke, just like we were better this year without HE.

D'Lo Brown

Replacing Luke's defense, gonna be easy.

IMO, Froling will go a long way towards doing that.     Incremental improvement from Heldt, putbacks and dump offs to Theo, should come close.    I worry more about replacing KR.

We have froling, eke and Theo to help us fill in for Luke's missing offense. We'll be fine

Considering none of them have played a minute for MU I take that comment with a grain of salt.

Lets evsluate lukes offense from beginning of BE season.  Couple that with his horribke defrnse n rebounding.  Hell if the freshman estonian from so. Car can eat his lunch the incoming freshmen will be an improvement too.  Sorry i know there is love fir him but he was beyond horrible this year.  Replacing him is not going to be hard, heldt, for goodness sake, out played him the second half of the season

Heldt looked like a deer in headlights last night. He was so intimidated it wasn't funny. After his 2 hesitations cost us 4 early points, Wojo correctly benched him and put in Luke, and the entire offense improved. Having said that, Heldt's play most of the last month gives me reason to think he can be a solid 10-15 minute player for us next season - which was more than I thought two months ago.

MSK, when it comes to Luke, you have what one Scooper used to call a "hate woody," and you actually believe he is "horribke." We get it. Some others actually thought (and maybe still think) he could reach the NBA. The truth lies somewhere in the middle of those extremes.

He's an efficient low-post offensive player and decent shot-blocker. He's not a good on-ball defender and not a gifted rebounder. He was our leader in SoG, and deservedly so.

As I sit here today, I think we will miss him, especially on offense. I also happen to think we will miss JJJ and Katin quite a bit.

But I have high hopes for Froling, John, Cain and Sacar, as well as in the improvement of Sam, Markus, Haani, etc. And I believe in Wojo. Already very much looking forward to the 2017-18 Warriors!

Luke will be missed. But Marquette managed to overcome the loss of Jerel, Wes and Dominic — who together played a far bigger role in the offense — and the players that followed had far more success in the NCAA tournament than the Three Amigos.

Clearly ur entitled to ur opinion and i dont hate luke.  What i do hate is how people can watch him play and think he is good. He is horrible.  Th fact that he wasnt starting as a senior n was fouling out in 10 minutes n playing behind a sophimore that many say isnt even a D1 player says all that needs to be said about him.  Again dont hate him, just hate that hes our guy.

Marquette will still score effectively enough next year.  Wojo will look for some new inside scoring ability among the 4 bigs he'll have at his disposal.  The big difference is that he'll have 4 bigs at his disposal potentially able to play a little D.  Marquette makes significant progress if we can simply get our defense to average.

ecompt

We will miss Luke on offense probably 6-8 points worth. But unless Froling is a statue and the incoming class cannot run or jump, we should chop 10-12 points off what we allow.

Agree.  Held, Harry, Hauser and the incoming bigs will be a big improvement next year.  Although I liked Fisch's game as a Soph, he was awful this year.

Yeah you never know who will step up from year to year in my opinion.  One player leaving can really open things up for another.  Hoping Hauser feel more comfortable and assertive in the offense next year.
