Everyone in the East region in the tournament field should be worried about Marquette and hoping they get bounced before they have to face them.  An uptempo, efficient offense is not the team you want to face in March.

You think we're stopping at the East Region? I already put in for Phoenix through the Marquette ticket office!

Anyone looking for a laugh, go visit the buckyville forum and peep the thread titled "F'ing 8 seed!"..... They were absolutely flipping out about that and it got even funnier when Minnesota was announced as a 5.

I've got a new strategy this year... every matchup, I am going to pick against the team whose fans are bitching the most about their seed.  Maybe the committee is smarter than people say they think they are.

If Bucky was a 4 or a 5 then they probably would have played in Milwaukee.  The way they sucked down the stretch, no way they deserved to get an in-state game.  They have had plenty of them in the past and didn't earn it this year.

Also, an overseeded MN does not mean that the Badgers are wrongly seeded by more than one line.

This 1,000 times. So many Badger fans are obsessed with their seed because of Minnesota. Yes, Minnesota was wrong, but so were a number of teams. One conference mate being overseeded doesn't mean what they did to your team was criminal.

Badgers maybe should have been a 7, but nothing better.  That is what happens when you only have 4 top 50 wins.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

As happy as I am to finally see Bucky not get the benefit of the doubt this year, I saw this five-thirty-eight article that offers a variety of rankings for each team, and according to the models, it does look like UW got a seed that was probably 2, maybe even 3 lower than what seems right.

The same models would suggest that we should have been seeded as a likely 8, and that SC is probably the better fit at a 10. Ironically, the only ranking category that has SC as a top 28 team (ie- 7 seed material) is the least mathematically sound method - the selection committee. If you put much weight in the models, which I think a number of us do, then it looks like the committee really botched the seeding for a lot of teams in the East.

Wasn't New Orleans talking about dropping to D3 sometime after Buzz left there? What happened to that?

You got to wonder with the B1G Championship ending 30 minutes before the brackets come out. If Wisconsin beat Michigan, is Wisconsin a #5 in Milwaukee and Minnesota an #8 in Buffalo.

Committee member said that winner of Mich Wisco game got 7, loser 8.

SMU and MN should be flipped.

I'm guessing that was Mark Hollis who said that on CBS. Thanks.

How in the world did our opponent get a home game as a No. 7 seed then?

Still trying to figure that one out.

That has to be one of the most baffling decisions. They should've swapped St. Mary's and South Carolina. We didn't play St. Mary's, USC didn't play VCU. No home-court advantage for either 7-seed in the Round of 64, keep Gonzaga and St. Mary's in different regions, and no SEC team for SC to face until potentially Vandy in the Elite 8.

That makes sense, brew.

I think I'd rather play SC than St. Mary's, but I sure wish it wasn't just up the road from Columbia.

I'll be cheering like heck!

Or even flip locations with Mich / Ok State and our game is in Indy, and they play in SC.  I feel like it was an oversight, but an unfortunate one.  They're overseeded, and they get a home game.  Great break for SC.

FWIW - certainly not much! - I picked Marquette to reach the Final Four.

Ridiculous, right? But it also would have been ridiculous to pick 10-seed Syracuse to do that last year.

Also getting to Phoenix: Arizona, Kansas and Butler.

I do have us losing to AZ, which will then lose to Kansas in the national title game. KU is getting very little love this season, so I'll give 'em some.

Given all the yakking about UNC, Kentucky and UCLA all being in the same bracket, I couldn't resist picking Butler!

I also couldn't resist Princeton over ND and Vandy over Wisconsin. Gives me even more reasons to root against the Evil Twins.

Other upset specials include UNC-Wilmington, Nevada, URI, Michigan and Cinci all getting to the Sweet 16.

What the hell. Sources say it's a crapshoot.

We'll see about that. Could still be a bad matchup for them.
