When Northwestern's Name Gets Called Sunday ...
« on: March 09, 2017, 09:52:02 PM »
... who will take their spot among Power Conference schools with the longest streak without an NCAA appearance?

Answer: the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. Their last appearance was in 1991.

(FYI - Depaul's last appearance was 2004)

(Second FYI - Northwestern has never made the NCAA tourney since the tourney's inception in 1939 ... 0 - 78.  Incidentally, the first NCAA tourney in 1939 was hosted by Northwestern in Evanston.)

This Northwestern emergence is not good for MU.

Were the Rodents not making it for 46 years from '48 to '93 the second-long streak among major conferences?

That is what I mean about NU. The Badgers never looked back once they found their way in.
