This seems like a truly unique situation where 4 conference teams are so close in terms of records and NCAA selection (MU, Seton Hall, Providence, Xavier).  With 3 conference locks (Villanova, Butler, Creighton), the BET will likely be the deciding variable, and therefore make the BET much more interesting.  For MU, finish .500 in league play, get a W on Thursday in NYC and you're in the final 4 of the BET.  That might just do it.  The next 8 days are going to be fun.

If MU wins one of their next two, it's 7 bids for the Big East.

I would agree, unless the result is the 7 seed and a loss to DePaul.

Yep, I believe that is correct.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Has any conference ever put 70% of its membership into the tournament?  Highest I can find is 68.75% for the BE in 2010-11 (11 of 16).

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I think the B12 put 8 of 10 within the past few years.  I'd have to go back and check.

Edit: Big 12 has had 7 bids in each of the past three tournaments.

The Big 12 has gotten 7 of 10 teams in the NCAA's each of the past three seasons.

1991 Big East I believe was the record. 7/9 teams (77.78%) made the tournament. 1 of the 2 that missed I believe also made the NIT.

Big 12 put 7/10 in pretty regularly of late, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think they ever hit 8/10.

In 1991 the Big East got 7 of 9 in the tournament (77.8%).  I think that is the highest percentage ever.

So we want to cheer for MU to go 2-0, X to go 1-1, SHU and PC win on Saturday. Then SJU to win the BET. 8/10.

Easy.

Assuming X doesn't lose out and Providence doesn't lose @SJU  and in the first game of the BET. Even then both of those would probably need some bid stealers to keep them out of the tourney.
