All good points, just seems like Sam has hit a wall. Thought it might take some pressure off him. Mainly I just love the heart and leadership Katin has shown since recovering from his injury.

Sam is leading the team in o rating the past five games and had played solid defense. He's just had a little foul trouble. If this is him hitting a wall, I can't wait to see what he's like when he's past it

What wall has Sam hit?  He's been in double figures in 8 of our last 11 games and each of our last 2 games.  And in 1 of the 3 games he didn't score in double figures he had 9 boards, 3 blocks, and played some outstanding defense (beyond the blocks).  He's been great for a freshman.

Katin is a spark off the bench.  I like where he's at.

Agreed. I don't think much has changed with Sam from earlier this season other than teams are more aware of limiting his looks. He's still knocking down shots when he does get a look. At this point he hasn't shown much ability to create his own shot, but there is still significant value in having a tall spot up shooter to space the floor, and he provides size and defensive rebounding we need. Katin, since his return from injury, provides a scoring boost off the bench and seems to be a stabilizing presence. Wojo referred to him as a "starter" in his post-game comments after Creighton, but added that more importantly he finishes. That's a good message to send, and I don't see a reason to tinker at this point.

As pointed out previously, Sam's a significantly better defensive rebounder. But I love what Katin has been bringing to the floor. When MU's offense is clicking, there are simply too many weapons to guard.

This thread sucks for me.  When Reinhardt started slow and people were bashing him I thought for sure my Hatin' on Katin would make the meme tourney.

Katin had a team high 32 minutes off the bench.  That after a team high 34 on Saturday.  Starting no matta.  It is minutes played and who finishes.
