Juan Anderson's Mixtape

It is almost time for this year's Al's Run.  I am very grateful for all who donated last year, as well as all previous years.

My family and I participate every year in memory of our son, Peter.  Peter lived his entire 3 week life at the Children's Hospital.  While his life is short in time, it had a big impact.

Peter would have been 4 this year and this year will be the fourth year we have fielded a team in his honor.  His birthday is September 10.  The event has special meaning for us since the walk is always held on a date that was part of Peter's life.  Over the first 3 years we've raised over $7,000.  We hope to keep going strong this year!

Please consider donating at the link below.  Even small amounts add up and make a difference.  I know several Marquette fans that in past years have donated $19.77 in honor of Al's National Title year.  My wife and I collect spare change through out the year in Peter's Piggy Bank.  Last year Peter's Piggy Bank raised a total of $20.17!  So, spoiler alert...Marquette is going to win the National Title this year!    ;D

Again, a big thank you to all who donated in previous years and I hope you visit my personal page at the link below to make a donation.

Thank you,
Lazar's Headband

I cannot be there in person, but a small donation has been sent from the left coast.  Go warriors!!

A great first 24 hours: Over $100 donated!

Keep it up Warriors!

I can't seem to find anything on the website... can someone clarify whether donations go to CHW/Foundation directly or to an intermediary?  This is especially important for those of us who frequent Charity Navigator and/or have employers who match charitable donations (i.e. only to orgs with 501(c)3 status).

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I believe 100% goes directly to CHW (Children's Hospital of WI).

I emailed the event coordinator to verify and will post her response.  She usually gets back to me pretty quickly.

From the event coordinator:

"If donors give to the area of greatest need, 90% supports hospital and system programs, 10% goes to administrative expenses.

If donors give to a particular funding area, 100% supports that area.

All donations come directly to CHW – there is no middle man."

Today is Peter's 4th birthday.  Please keep the donations coming!  Our team is nearing $1,000.  Help us get there!

Yesterday we took Peter's Piggy Bank to deposit; we'll be donating $20.56 this year!  And that's just our spare change.

Every little bit helps, even $5 or $10.

Remember, there is only one week left!

LH, condolences on the loss of Peter, but thank you for keeping his memory alive and doing so in a way that helps others by your support of Children's Hospital.  God Bless!

Just donated in Peter's memory, Lazar. Sorry I couldn't give more, but your family is in my prayers.

Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. The Marquette community is wonderful.  My wife and I are thankful for each donation.

We are looking forward to the walk and honoring Peter's legacy.  Know that you are a part of that legacy.

My wife and I have been blessed with a wonderful, healthy boy who will be 3 in December and another on the way in early November.  So far, so good with this pregnancy.  Keep us in your prayers in the coming weeks.

That's awesome Lazar. Congrats on the current pregnancy. I'm confident it'll go go great!
Always great to see scoopers come together for an event like this.

I'll be there walking for my niece Keni and her United way campaign for Birth to 3.
If you all have 2 minutes to spare,  here is the campaign video, thanks:
