I know Chicagoans have fond memories of his tenure, but in Houston we recall him as a fractious blowhard. Skilled at self promotion but he never really replicated his Chicago success elsewhere.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

He was a fractious blowhard.  He was a good coach who really kind of only knew one way to play.
