Buzz getting a lot of  good PR on the after game show. Prominent positive mention of Marquette amongst other items. He is a quite the showman. Looks like he has Va Tech pointed in the right direction.

Buzz came off very well..videos showing his foundation work and an impassioned speech to the team.

I wish Buzz would have mentioned just one of his current or former players...but this TV coverage was all about the coach. The way the media game is played ...feeds the ego/ profile of the coaches...to the cheapening of the player's rather key role in the game. Sad
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Remember, Buzz's "poor contract" at Va Tech included rights to build his own empire and make money off his status as HC there.. many schools would not have obliged. Not a dumb guy.. there is $$$ where he goes.

He was on the pre game show also.  After the segment Barkley said "shouldn't Buzz be out recruiting instead of talking to us on TV so he can actually get his team in the tournament next year?"

Being on TV is recruiting. How is that different than Wojo giving a speech at a HS?  Think about it.

tower912

Exactly.   Buzz had a national audience.    He dressed well and gave some good insight.   It can only help his recruiting.

They already hired Brad Underwood. I could definitely see him heading for Louisville if Pitino were to step down, however...

Come on guys, you don't mess with happy.

willie warrior

Amazing! The phony cowboy has been gone with the door hitting him in the ass for two years and the slurpfest still goes on. We should bring him back to replace Wojo. And maybe he can keep HE here and get Stone to transfer.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

he would kill at the Ville. I believe they are the only team with a bigger hoops budget than us

That's what one of the other studio guys said too.  This was coming from Charles "The Round Mound of Sit-Around" Barkley, it was funny, I'm not going to think about it beyond that.

Well, when you are laying out $200 per hour for "hostesses" that kinda adds up.

Seriously, Louisville would have their sights set way higher than Buzz if Pitino were to step down anytime soon.   Not only that, their program would be able to do way better than Buzz for a hire.

I must not have been tuned in when that was happening.  His halftime remarks of IU - UNC was IU needed to start getting stops in the second half to have a chance.  Really compelling stuff there.   ::)

When Kenosha says "us" he doesn't mean Marquette, does he?

He gave a really nice description, with stop motion tape, of what Duke liked to run with their star freshman, what they were trying to get, and the decisions it forced on the defense in an earlier stint.

Liked his insight but  his wearing Szerbiac's handkerchief on his head was embarrassing.

I know they hired Underwood. Do you think Buzz isn't still angling for that gig??
