OK, this may already be discussed in a different post, so forgive me if redundant.

How does this scenario look for MU making NCAA tourney?
What do you think?
Also please correct me if my tiebreaker knowledge is off.

IF:
MU wins today
PROV losses to ST. Johns in NY.
CREIGHTON losses to Xavier
4 teams at 9-9
(above not a terribly big stretch)

MU wins tiebreaker against Butler/Creighton/Prov  with a 5-1 head-to-head....So #4 seed.
(note: if we win, we would win any tiebreaker that involves one or both Butler and Prov)

MU wins first BET and perhaps looses to Nova in second round.
Prov wins first BET and losses to Xavier.

NCAA selection committee members see:
the high RPI number but they don't know much about MU and see the #4 seed, they see 21-12 w/BET 1-1 (butler 20-11 with BET loss, Creighton 18-14 with BET loss, Prov 22-11 with BET 1-1)....so Creighton out...Butler and PRov better RPI but MU has beaten them both twice....the committee thinks Big East should get at least 4 teams in given its toughness and Xavier and Villanova are great....MU ended the season winning...so hmmmm....maybe MU rather than Prov. or maybe both of them.

I know in 4-5 hours this is all history. But if the games shake out today like I said above....we have some hope besides an outright BET win.

Yes, i know its a stretch ...thought i would try a post.

It also occurred to me we could end up playing providence in the BET...a 3-0 record against them would win any head 2 head decision as well.

Actually think it is possible,  but very unlikely probably something like 5-10%.

Really think MU needs to win three in a row to have any real shot at an at large,  and even then it's probably only a 50-50 chance.  you do bring up a good point though I find it very unlikely that the big leest will get less than five teams in . Would be awfully hard to take Providence and Butler, who Marquette would be a combined 5-0 against.  If our computer numbers were not so ugly we would actually be in a decent spot right now.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Any year in recent memory and MU is DOA at this point.  But this year, right now, anything is still possible for MU, including an at-large selection.   Likely?  Absolutely not, but if everything falls into place?  Sure.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

The home loss to DePaul wounded MU.  The Creighton loss finished us off.  Only Lazarus can bring MU back from the NCAA dead (run the table in the BET).

Yep, that's reality.  Practically speaking, need to win the BET to get the RPI under 70.  If lose in BET semi-finals, the RPI would be around 75.  Is Henry enough of a draw for the committee to select MU at 75 under the theory that this frosh led team took time to develop?  In the meantime, lets win today!
