I think we could still finish 8th if Gtown beats Villanova, we lose to Butler and there are no other teams tied at 8-10. We would win a 3 way tie, but lose a 2 way tie to GT by virtue of their win over Xavier.

In a four way tie with MU, PC, Butler, and Creighton, I think Marquette would get the four seed by winning the "mini conference".  We would be 5-1, and I don't think CU swept PC and BU like we did

For that to happen we need...

Butler wins tonight and loses to us
Providence beats Creighton but loses to St. John's
Creighton loses twice to PC and Xavier
We win on Saturday

The mini-conference as of this morning (just because I wanted to see if I could correctly use the table function).  Record reflects the team in the left column.  Things look pretty good for us.

MU          Butler      Providence  Creighton   Total
MU-1-02-01-14-1
Providence     0-22-0-1-03-2
Creighton1-11-10-1-2-3
Butler0-1-0-21-11-4

Sagarin has MU an early 11 point dog for the Butler game.

Seems high?

I think it's a fair line. Butler only has three home losses to Xavier, 'Nova, and Providence (back when they were around the top-10). 10 of their 12 home wins are by double-digits. The other two victories (Tennessee, Seton Hall) were both by 8. They get it done at home and Saturday will be tough with or without Hank.
