Coleman

Fr. Robert A. Wild SJ officially announced in a newly-created position of Chancellor.

Sounds like the primary job of this role will be fundraising, donor/alumni relations, etc.

It is good to have Fr. Wild at Marquette in an official capacity. Loyola Chicago did the same thing when Fr. Garanzini retired as president a couple years ago and they hired their first lay president as well (although this was done immediately). I also like still having the Jesuit in a high administrative position. Gives everything a sense of continuity and keeps the Jesuit identity.
