I agree with the Badger postings on this one.  I think Hughes didn't quite find the right word to say on this one.  I think he was admitting that he didn't prepare enough, but I think he meant to say something like... "I took this game for granted after last year..." or something to that effect.

What game will he take seriously? If he can't get up for an intrastate rival at home, something's wrong. He spent the entire game looking at the back of MU uniforms. There are four MU guards quicker than he is.

Is this kid serious? didnt he average like 2 pts last yr? so this year when he is a factor he doesnt prepare? yeah right he just got shown up by a better player, and he made it worse by saying something stupid

I wasn't so much caught off guard about the "joke" statement, but rather taking it for granted.  I mean, it's the 11th ranked team in the country coming in to play you on your home court.
