Henry is good.
Wally can jump.
There is an emphasis in officiating on cutting down on physical play.    Adjust or sit down.
JJJ had 4 TO's in 19 minutes and one pose after a dunk while the ball and the other team went to the other end of the floor.
Duane will see his share of minutes at the point.
Flashes of good play from everyone.    Against a NAIA school.
Nobody got hurt.
Cupcakes lead to unwarranted euphoria.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

If this is what the first month of the season is going to be like with 50 fouls a game I just may wait until January to start watching. It was really unwatchable. I'm all for physical play, let the kids play.

Golden Avalanche

Nothing. It holds the same value as playing in Rome, Venice, and Lugano. Actually, less value since those games brought us Basketball Bilde.

Sigh. Thinking the same thing. It wasn't just the Marquette game, either. I watched the Utah (54 fouls), Florida (46 fouls) and Oklahoma (51 fouls) exhibitions and they all had this same common theme. It's likely going to be a brutal first month of college basketball, at least in terms of watchability.

We R Final Four

JJJ looks to be the same player as two years ago.

Duane missed 3 block outs that led to off rebounds.

Just go to free throw shooting contests and recruit the winners as the future plan for MUBB.  Maybe that's the "vision" Wojo sold the admin on in his interview.

MU Fan in Connecticut

I hope we've been practicing free throws.

I've seen others with 25. Can't grap with the hands. A few were picky last night at the Bradley Center.

Like Duane's 4th foul, it was about as perfect as you can get, moved the feet and his arms were in the air no where near grabbing him....only well, it will be a very long non-conference until the officiating evens out.

Side note, if they are going to call the hand checks and grabbing on drives then they really should introduce continuation....otherwise there is incentive to foul when you get blown by.
"A Plan? Oh man, I hate plans. That means were gonna have to do stuff. Can't we just have a strategy......or a mission statement."

You're right, Eng.

The refs removed any incentive to even try to play tough defense. And they did it to both teams. I expect it will calm down as the season goes on. If they want to put stars on the bench every game, viewer numbers will go down.

Too many turnovers and no clear PG.  With tight games upcoming, it looks like Duane will be that guy.  Traci had a tough game but will get better with time.

MU gave up way too many offensive rebounds.  Will need the guards to block out.

Need to establish Luke early.  Henry will be a pretty unstoppable match up.  Sandy is improved.

I actually likes the way the guards rebounded. Few of them were unlucky with the ball getting tipped around. I know Henry had 17 rebounds but those went right too him. Having Luke in there and not in foul trouble would have helped.
