hey, i like brett favre and understand the significance and timing of his arrival to green bay and note the return of the franchise to greatness. i witnessed his first game at county stadium with his winning touchdown and all when the whole thing started. then, met him in person at little ole hegartys bar as paul, the owner got him to visit and sign stuff before he got famous. he was one tough sob as noted by his games streak.

could you imagine, it would be funny as balls to see some internet doofus put out one of his infamous  self-photos of his "glory" with a number #4 and a packer helmet on it and photo-shop it on the lambeau facade next to starr, reggie, et.al. i know a lot of die-hard packer fans would be pissed, but jen sterger and many others would get a rise over it heynie?

GGGG

rocket, his first game when he came in and beat the Bengals was at Lambeau.  I know this because I was actually at a Brewer game at County Stadium, and heard a bunch in the crowd start going wild for no reason.  Favre just completed the TD pass and those with radios heard it.

But you are right.  I was born just a few months prior to Super Bowl II, so I knew nothing but futility until Favre came along.

As an NFL owner I expected some recognition. You would think that #4 would have seen fit to say thanks to me and a few of the other owners.

Bert Farve? Who's that?

Holy crap, I was at that Brewers game as well.  I remember seeing them flash the score as of the start of the 4th quarter and figured we were in for an 0-3 start and another long year of Packer football.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Blackhat

I was at that Atl-GB game too.  My father took me to the Atlanta-GB game at County as a wee lad.  Great sporting memory.  Favre couldn't have ended that era any better.   Great gunslinging qb and a great man with flaws.

Thanks Jerry!
