What could Taylor's realistic professional aspirations honestly be though? He's not very skilled and after the knee injury  isn't very athletic.

It will come down to his health. What Steve has going for him is that even when he's less than 100%, he's a pretty good rebounder. At times last year he was a lights out rebounder. If he can turn those "at times" into consistency and actually get healthy, I can definitely see him getting paid some decent coin to play.

Don't think he'll ever be in the NBA, or even likely in the NBADL, but his nose for the ball should get him work somewhere.

I get maybe wanting to sit a year and rehab, but we have a ton of open schollies, he could havd accomplished the same thing redshirting here and replacing Ellenson as starter after his 1 & done year.

If you feel you need to go down to the MAC to get PT, you're not going to have much of a professional career anyway. Obviously he sees it differently and I hope it works out for him.

He never had a knee injury, just knee surgery.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Wow, I thought UIC was a lock

It was but then after weeks go bye and he did not commit, then was a signal it was not going to happen.

Why? He was a backup forward on a team that finished 9th out of 10th in its conference and was ranked 110 by KenPom (Toledo was ranked higher BTW). What team wants to give up 2 years of scholarship for 1 year of a backup player from a bad high major team?

He stays, he is the backup forward to a freshman on a team that might make the tournament but is probably NIT bound. At Toledo he will be the starter on a team that has a great shot at winning its conference and making the dance as an autobid. If playing time is his priority, seems like a good choice to me. Best of luck to him.
I agree with this analysis. Also I would add he is going to a program with a coach who has a solid record over time.  He guarantees himself a degree and if healthy has a big senior year can probably position himself for a nice foreign opportunity. I think he has a brother nearby at Michigan State who plays football, so he will be able to get there pretty easy if he wants to.

This place gets funny sometimes.  We should temper our expectations for Henry Ellenson but we should discuss a player's pro prospects who is transferring from Marquette to Toledo.  Alrighty then.
