I think it is great that the Big Guy won the MVP. Though his team is one game out of first place, and the automatic (ahem) promotion to the "A" (major) league, it is still a great accomplishment for a MU graduate.

One has to wonder what MU might have done without Otule coming back for his sixth year, and what might have happened had Gardner been the "full time" five.

I've wondered that as well.  Buzz bought in too much in the pre-season and Nov/Dec, 2013 with the jumbo lineup. But, still, the backcourt was still the major problem with that team.

I miss Devante.  What a unique player, and so damn fun to watch.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Really? Was that ever discussed on Scoop?

If McKay replaces Otule, if Vander comes back, if Duane doesn't break his leg? 17-15 probably looks more like 25-7, a 3 seed and our 4th straight Sweet 16.

The cowboy would probably be a Texas right now, too.

This. I've never seen a player get so many rebounds without even jumping. He was easily my favorite player to watch during my time at MU

Indeed. Prolly still woulda ended up with Wojo too, and last year probably wouldn't have been as brutal (with McKay on the roster). Oh well, short term pain, still looking good long term.

Buzz would have bolted for Texas, we would have grabbed Wojo or Shaka. Might not have Henry. 99% wouldn't have Carlino, so jury is out for this past season. But would have had a better freshman class last year.

The rules changes that year would have allowed Vander to dominate. His game was perfectly suited for the new foul calls. Derrick and Jake was just a horrible guard pairing. Not just because of their deficiencies but because their games further accentuated each other's deficiencies.

Haven't heard from our French friend in a while. I hope he comes back.
