I realize there are fans here that are stuck in the 1970's when it comes to Notre Dame, but I'm happy for them.  Mike Brey, especially.  His mother died yesterday of a heart attack, he didn't tell his team, coached the team to a win.  That had to be tough.  ND has a microscope on them for many things.  They are far far from perfect, but think they do it right most of the time.

Notre Who?

Death on call

bradley center bat

Doesn't make the Butler loss hurt less.

I like Mike Brey and that is an inspiring story.  Just wish he was coaching a different team than ND (especially frat boy Connaughton or however you spell it) against a team other than Butler.

Dr. Blackheart

Great game...maybe the closest so far. Was like a prizefight.

jsglow

Condolences to Mike Brey.  Had to be tough.  That said, I never cheer for ND and am a big Butler fan.

There are no fraternities at Notre Dame outside of academic-based ones.

That 'frat boy' Connaughton represents what's good about college basketball.  His positive attitude carried his team yesterday.

Condolences to Mike Brey.

Congrats to fellow Marian grad and Mishawaka native, Demetrius Jackson.

The rest of them...  Eff 'em, stinkin' Domers.

So, you're on a deserted island with Adolph Hitler, Ted Kennedy, and Digger Phelps.  You've got a gun with two bullets.  Who do you shoot?

Digger.  Twice.

I shoot the murderer first, then the other murderer.  I guess Digger survives.

Sorry to hear about Mike Brey's mom, but Notre Dame SUCKS! Hate that dam school and USC.

If you enjoy 3 point shooters who hit their first 3 pointer 42:30 into a game and then run down the court dropping F bombs and acting tough then yeah the frat boy with the cute chin patch represents what is good about college basketball. Not my taste but to each their own.

You mean threads about MU coaches of the past? No. ND isn't in our conference and Brey isn't a past coach.

It's no coincidence that ND has had a good run of form these last few years whilst also having off the court issues. Grant suspended for academic issues last season. Auguste suspended earlier this season. Throw in the multiple drugs suspensions they've had in recent past and everyone's "doing it right" is certainly subject to interpretation.

Throw in a couple of sexual assaults covered up by campus police for good measure.

No school is perfect.  It's when those pius a$$holes sit around smelling their farts and telling each other they smell like shamrock shakes.

Norm

Some of you folks need to get a grip re ND. Yes, they are a rival, but I know lots of ND grads, including my own father, and I still haven't met any of them who "sit around smelling their farts and telling each other they smell like shamrock shakes."

I do that and I went to MU.
