"Indianapolis — It pays to practice free throws.

Just ask the Marquette women's basketball team."

Shot across Wojo's bow? I think so.

If anything, it's more than likely a shot at Buzz for his comments of how FTs aren't practiced...which was completely blown out of proportion to begin with.

Blackhat

Was very smart of Buzz when you are limited in team practice time.   Let them shoot free throws on their own.

Free throws should be practiced - before and after team practice, at 10PM, at 5am, anytime other than regular practice.  If a kid is having trouble, the coach best able to teach free throws should work with the player.  If that is against NCAA rules, there are plenty of shooting coaches that would assist.

wadesworld

Pretty standard to put up some free throws heading into a water break.  Shoot them while you're tired, just like at the end of games.

Wonder if Derrick shot 25,000 FT's last summer. If not, he should have.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

2014 Team (didn't practice FTs): 69%
2015 Team (does practice FTs): 68%

Imagine if Buzz practiced FTs

Back in the day, Al and really Hank taught the art ofbfree throw shooting to the players.  It was considered very, very important.

Jay Bee

Free throws during practice at any time other than a cool down session is a waste of time.
The portal is NOT closed.

Dr. Blackheart

Even though this is a bit dated, I am pretty sure Buzz's teams still were close to the best at free throw shooting. Al's? Not so much.

And, to go back to the original post, the women's team is shooting 71%.  And that's with Arlesia Morse shooting 111-119.
