Vander Blue Scores 38 Points vs. Rio Grande Valley Vipers 1/7/15

BY TREVOR WONG ON   JANUARY 7, 2015

Vander Blue was pretty much unstoppable as he reached a new season-high with 38 points (14-of-25 field goals, 9-of-13 free throws), to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. The Marquette product scored nine points early to pace L.A. in the opening quarter, then added 25 in the second half (10 straight to open the final frame to key the D-Fenders rally) to lead the team to their first road win of the year.

Equally impressive, and borderline comical, was this box score from four days earlier.

Vander had 31 pts (and 10 assists), and was the THIRD leading scorer...on his own team.  Defense was optional this game.

I think Vander gets called up to the Lakers before the season is over for a 10 day contract.

Wow!  LA lost 174 to 169.

Is Vander in the NBDL or the old ABA?  Does he have a giant Afro and do they play with a red, white and blue ball?

Good for Vander but I just saw highlights of Reno vs Rio Grande and the game was 159-155.

They showed ridiculous scoring stats for Reno this year as they literally do not play defense and just try to score.

So nice to see Vander have a big night, but these games are kinda coming with * right now lol.

Good job Vander. Keep putting it in the net and you will realize your dream.
