Bo will be 67 years old at end of year. How much longer will he coach? Will the players he is recruiting even be playing for him all four years?I think this is a big advantage for Wojo.

NavinRJohnson

I see nothing to indicate he is anywhere near retiring.

It doesn't matter anymore.  MU is getting the best players from WI already because players are now old enough to remember being scared as little kids by the Grinch movie.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

GooooMarquette

I'd like to think this is an advantage...but Boeheim is 70 and Larry Brown is 74.  Nowadays, guys who win seem to stick around until a health issue forces them to quit.

As mentioned earlier though, Wojo seems to be doing just fine on the recruiting trail....

what's the life span of a Grinch?   need to factor that in...

Chicos' Buzz Scandal Countdown

It'll be interesting whenever it is that Bo hangs 'em up, in that Wiscy doesn't really have a coaching tree of note, and I'm not sure that's a terribly attractive job among high-major coaches. Not to mention Bo's success seems to be a result of a very dated and unique system.... nobody coaches like that anymore. Other than that, UW doesn't really have any significant advantage over any B10 school.

The UW alumni seem to be convinced Tony Bennett will drop everything to get back to Madison. I think they are out of their minds.

Unless you're being pushed out, you don't leave for a new job that's a lateral move. It has to be a significant jump to make the risk worthwhile.

Not to mention UW doesn't really have the cash to lure a big name replacement.

Not that it can't happen, but it'll be interesting to see.

Guessing that they will have to pry the coach mantle out of Bo's cold dead hands.

PGsHeroes32

I think as of now you have to expect he has another 7 years in him.

Obviously things can happen. But I am banking on playing Wisco coached by Bo for another 7 seasons at least.

From what I have heard from a neutral but well informed source is that they are not wrong
