All tied up with 4 minutes to go. Good to see Davidson in action again, a potentially DEADLY mid-major, didn't lose anyone from last year and Stephen Curry is nasty, got all the good basketball genes from papa Dell. He has a smooth stroke and is clutch at the line. This game has the making to be biggest upset this far in this young season

This was a great game. Close from wire to wire. Curry looked good, Richards looked good. UNC had some issues when Hansborough wasn't in. They need to hope he doesn't get in early foul trouble. Davidson is going to reek some havoc this year. They still have games against UCLA, Duke and NC State so we'll see what theyre made of.

Davidson is a quality team, they really gave hansborough fits with that double in the first half and then he kind of lost his composure in the 2nd half when he picked up his 2nd foul (Technical)

UNC looked awfully sloppy in the first 1/2.  If not for Wellington (who shot like 8/13) UNC would have lost this game.  His step back with about 1 minute to play was the dagger that basically sealed the deal.  All told, Davidson left a lot of easy baskets on the court.  Several missed dunks and bunnies and if those had gone in it would have been a different game.

What I did like about this game is how well Davidson's senior led team played against such a talented group of UNC players.  How many 5 star players do you think Davidson has on their team?  How would they ever hang with the upper echelon's of basketball's great teams who seem to have these studly recruiting classes year in and year out?  Sound familiar?  Sure UNC recruits studs but many of those studs leave after a year or two leaving a young, non-cohesive, teams.

Exactly--and no one has found a way to incorporate this factor into rating a recruiting class. They act as if Syracuse's success with Carmelo Anthony for one year is the norm. Yet it depends on the other players' atitude, the system they play and--of course--luck. Is a 5 start player for a year better than a four star for 3 years? And there is no assurance that every 5 star will prove to be a Beasley right away.

Duke couldn't WAIT to get ride of McRoberts. That might be the norm, rather than Melo.
