Why is it the last number of years Mu has nothing on signing day?....others schools have releases touting the recruits and a little hype and an article in the paper.  MU's is always delayed...a little annoying

ToddPacker

I certainly agree that it is annoying.  Could it be a marketing move?  Do they purposely wait a day or two so the announcement is not lost in all of the other announcements?  I have no idea if these even makes sense or not, but there must be some reason that every year, MU is delayed in their announcement.

Since you have to wait until you actually receive the signed copy before commenting, MU generally waits until they have everyone's official LOI before saying anything.  Given that Fulce didn't sign his LOI until after Tyler's game last night, they couldn't say anything.

Ok, I think everyone realizes that, but why is it that every year MU lags behind almost every school in announcing this.  As for Fulce not signing his LOI until last night, well, where is the morning press release then?  I am sure that it is all written and ready to go, all they need to do is release it.

Harrison

I guess Mu is the only school in the country that has recruits playing the night of the LOI being due?  So then 1 day late...but 2?

Regardless, then I will change the question to why is MU the only school that has some different BS reason every year?

Again, MU generally waits until they get the actual original LOI, other schools go off of the faxed copy of the LOI, which MU could do but has chosen not to for quite some time.  That delays things, to the point where they may not even have Fulce's LOI yet.

The reason has never changed.  It's always been that they wait until the LOI officially arrives.  And it's not just mens b-ball it is other sports as well.  You'll notice that there has been no release from any MU sport after signing day, not just mens b-ball.

1. Why do you guys care so much? It's not as if the members of MU's recruiting class are some great mystery.

2. Are you sure every other school in the nation released something yesterday?

Just a brief scan around the Net finds:

- nothing on Georgetown's site:
http://guhoyas.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/gu-m-baskbl-body.html

- nothing on UConn's site:

- nothing on Notre Dame's site:

- nothing from DePaul:

- nothing from Pitt:

Those are the only five BE schools I looked at, and none of them have an announcement up on their recruiting classes. Seems to me that MU is hardly alone in not putting these announcements out there on the first day of the signing period.

A day late??? The signing period runs from the 14th - 21st. Where is it stated that a recruit that verballed must sign on the first day.

Also, who cares when the press conference is. What difference does it make if the conference is held on the 1st, 2nd, or even 5th day of the signing period.

 :D

you will not find one for ND they signed no one    ;D

ND's recruiting while never great has really gone down the crapper of late.  With as strong as recruitng is getting in the BE I think they are really going to struggle in the upcoming years.  I woorry about the level of Mu's recruitng, I would be beside myself if i was an ND fan.  they lived off Duagherty's signings ie Thomas, Francis et al.  Since then it has simply fallen off the table.  jackson, harnagody and Marly/mcalarney and Kurz are nice players but after that the bottom falls out.
