There was a point, not that long ago, when Wesley was the best youth soccer player in the state of Wisconsin.  Interesting to think what might have been if he didn't commit to hoops.

I bet he's close buddies with Portland Timbers players and probably Alex Morgan and her teammates with Thorns FC.

FYI: Both the Timbers and Thorns clubs are owned by a company run by Hank Paulson's son.

Alex started her club career down the road from us for Cypress Futbol Elite, same club my son.   Hank's son, Merritt, and I worked together for several years when he ran NBA League Pass and NBA TV distribution for the league.  He was my day to day contact back in 2007-08.

I was on a teleconference call with Merritt and my boss when I first took over the NBA stuff.  My boss and Merritt had a pretty epic back and forth that made a lot of folks uncomfortable (heated exchange) and I kept thinking to myself, "what the hell did I just walk into".  One of those phone calls where things got a bit heated.  My favorite expression from my then boss (he has moved on to a different company) was "it's impossible to deal with someone that was born into the lucky sperm club, they don't get reality".   ;)

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

He might have been playing in the MLS making $40,000--even that's a long shot.
