Interesting. This article seems to think that they will use local rivalries to fill up the event schedule. We may end up playing bucky in November rather than december

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I hope this doesn't supplant MU's pre-season tourneys!

So potentially we could have

MU vs. Vagers
Xavier vs. Ohio St.
Butler vs. Indiana
Depaul vs. NU or Illinois
Creighton vs. Nebraska
Georgetown vs. MD
Seton Hall vs. Rutgers
Nova vs. Penn St
St. Johns vs. MSU (cant leave them out)
Providence vs. Michigan

Those would be some interesting matchups. Purdue, Illinois or NU, Minnesota and Iowa kinda get left in the dust though.

I wouldn't mind keeping the home and home with bucky and then adding a rotational game vs. Ohio State, Iowa, or Minnesota.  Would be good for schedule strength and great for TV.

Would much rather have us playing MSU or U of M.  Since we already have an ongoing schedule of games with the Badgers, I can't imagine this challenge would have us play them again.

As a consolation,  I could live with us playing Northwestern or Illinois.

Setan Hall won't play Rutgers

Broeker tweeted last night that the Gavitt game would be in addition to the Wisconsin game. Look for Marquette to get Northwestern or Illinois if they go with a "local" angle.

Good.  This would be a huge disappointment if all we did was get Wisconsin every year like we already have.  Would be happy to see us play Minn, Illinois, NW, whatever.

GOO

Given the geography, this makes sense.  However, I would rather see the Pac 12 and the Big East do a series.  And yes, I realize the Big Ten is rated higher than the Pac 12.
