The live video webcam feed I saw was that Wardle was walking near campus liquor looking for a guy named Al.  I think the last name was Coholic.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

If this happens, can we at least put the Ron Paul meme at the top of Scoop so I can get a laugh when I come here?

Maybe he's just getting tickets for the awards banquet.

With Comedy Sportz in the house you're gonna want to get those tickets early!

If Wardle is the coach we will be able to play our games at the Al

Seems like he's trying to force his way into Marquette.  I had a buddy that was at a coaching conference with Wardle, Huggins, and a few others.  It was in Wisconsin, somewhere, I forget, but Wardle went up to the bartender and asked " do you know who I am?"  He's that type of guy..... Crean-esque.

This doesn't even come close to how he behaved when I last spoke with him, which, admittedly, was more than a decade ago. Time and people change but other friends still have contact with him and have only good things to say.

He's flying to Richmond with the contingent.  They want another alumni perspective.

Really, Why? Why do an interview if you have no intention of hiring the guy. He is not quailed for this job why do people insist on bring his name up

Want to show him some love for the next time we are looking, assuming his coaching career continues progressing.

Deanes buddy is just pissed that Wardle didn't know who the bartender was

I get it now - Wardle's recruiting Shaka, not Doc.

Did I need teal?

Couple questions on Wardle -

Did anyone hear the 'true' story about the abuse allegations?  He denies it ever took place but I find that hard to believe.  Anyone who knows him or mutual friends find him to motivate players in a different manner now?  I can't imagine it's that much different from a lot of coaches.  Buzz seemed kind of corny with his insults but didn't ever seem very vulgar or overly offensive.

I was pretty young when Wardle was a player so I can't quite remember his demeanor.  Pretty aggressive and competitive of course.  Was he a trash talker and physical player?  Just curious.

I would run track practice at the old gym during track practice with o'neill cussing  like a sailor at mcilvaine with his bike helmet on, I think all d 1 coaches are wired like that.

He's a type A personality that's autocratic.  People like Johnathan Martin wouldn't last on his team.  As a player he didn't have reputation really, accept as a scorer.

If anything, Wardle has only gotten attention because Butler and Brad Stephens aren't in his league anymore.  UWGB's NIT showing was abysmal.  Had UWGB made some noise in the NIT, then Wardle would have much more a spotlight on him.  The questions you have to ask are.... why aren't any lesser schools making a run at him right now?  Hmmmmm. ......

Good points.  I'd hate to see us settle for Wardle merely because of the MU connection.  He has some good players and clearly developed his team, but if we're looking to hire a coach with proven success, Wardle is still years away.

I wonder how much knowledge kids have about college coaches.  For instance, does our 2014 incoming class know much if anything about Ben Howland?

agreed, and it looks good to other schools if he's considered as a candidate for the MU position.  it would be in MU's best interest for wardle to move on to a better program so MU has a better feel for his abilities the next time they need a coach.  hiring him now would cost marquette more $$$ in the next few years then they would save on his salary.

They lost in the Horizon Tournament and in the NIT because Sykes was hurt. That guy was phenomenal when he was healthy.
