Obviously the MU admin made a serious miscalculation figuring they'd effectively let Buzz walk and they'd be the Bell of the Ball able to attract any number of Head Coaches who would be "impact hires" and an upgrade over Buzz without the issues.  Now we are left to grovel for some an unproven assistant with no ties to our area of the country from a recruiting standpoint.  We are in very dangerous waters, DePaul and Seton Hall aren't that far from where we stand.
So if we are going to settle why not consider Isaac Chew.  He knows the program and knows the recruiting.  It's likely that we keep all the current players we'd likely keep the recruits because Chew was the primary recruiter anyway.  He was being paid practically like a HC.  Give him a shot, give him a little raise and give him 3 years.  Maybe he succeeds.  If he doesn't at least when we go out in the market next time we will know where we stand and be prepared to accept what that standing gives us.
