Next season's roster as it stands TODAY
« on: March 29, 2014, 09:43:47 AM »
Realizing there will be changes to come whenever we finally hire someone, so like McGinn from JS does every August w/ the Packers roster, I broke down MU's 2014-15 roster w/ the 13 signed guys as of today.

Locks
Burton (he's already come out and said he's back)
Duane Wilson (tweet after Buzz's departure seemed to leave no doubt he's back)
Fischer (chose MU primarily to be close to home, he's back)

Good bets
Dawson (believe he's tweeted to the effect he'll likely be back, correct me if I'm wrong anyone)
Derrick Wilson
Mayo
(Both seniors, who typically don't leave w/ one year remaining Mayo will probably be relieved to have a fresh start w/ someone else)

Complete unknowns- following in IMO will depend totally on the new coach
Anderson
Taylor Jr.
Johnson
All four frosh

A solid foundation w/ the three locks, all local kids, all highly recruited w/ big upside.  Like Dawson's potential too.  Maybe Mayo will have a Wes Matthews type senior year (and figure out how to defend competently).

The cupboard is far from bare for whoever the next guy will be.  Would think this is an attractive roster from the outside looking in.  You would think the new guy could keep 2-3 of the following- Taylor Jr, Johnson (and maybe give him a real chance to show his talents), Hill, and Cohen.  If we keep three of those four, that's doing really well I think.
