Maybe we hear today or maybe we are still waiting next Thursday. I have no idea who it is. I would like a big name, but given MU's history Brian Wardle or someone else not well known would not surprise me. I have decided I will not be critical of the hire until I see who is still on the team. We have 9 returning players and 4 sign recruits. All thirteen stay it is a good hire. If less than 10 stay it is a disastrous hire. How many stay is a good indication whether players actually like him.

12 or 13=A
11=B
10=C
9=D
8=F
7 =time to get a lynch mob together for whoever is responsible for the hiring.

It's a two way street though. Doesn't he have to like the players to an extent as well?
No Finish Line

Caught it as soon as I posted. I should not rush. However, it is bad typing not spelling.

Yep.  Keeping the roster / signees intact vs. replacing them with his own players who in some cases may be upgrades.  I'd be less than thrilled if the coach keeps every single player, and I'd be worried if the coach loses half the roster.

We R Final Four

So keeping Juan and DW as our last two would catapult us into the A range?
I don't like your grading scale sir.

Ahmed Hill. That's the grade A.

What if the players who leave were going to leave anyway?

have to respect the process

bilsu

Yes you wait 6 years to make a valid judgement, I am just saying that if they hire someone who we do not like, we have to look at whether the players like him. As far as players who were already planning on leaving that is because they were not happy with Buzz. A new coach could change that.

JakeBarnes

Given the boards this season, I don't think Scoop needs any guidelines about how to judge the new hire. We will find our own irrational ways to do that.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.
