nice looking ad......I am surprised the reference to Wade is as generic as 'former Marquette student'.  By MU's own definitions, he's an alum -- but not yet a graduate.

Still, its gratifying to know that DW values his MU affiliation so much -- Lincoln, Gatorade and MU.  Pretty cool

You know what would put him over the top?  Doing something like Stephan Marbury, with his $14 shoe.  I really admire the "Starbury" line, and what they're trying to do.  Imagine if a bunch of NBA stars with good heads on their shoulders demanded low priced shoe lines.

Wade is getting a paltry 3.8m this year, the last year of his contract.  That'll what, triple, quadruple?  Plus all the other dough he's raking in from endorsements.  He's the good guy of the NBA.  He can do without the $5m shoe contract, and go with the $1m shoe contract, fight the power, stop the shoe marketing madness.

Of course, my premise is putting Wade "over the top," which may already be.

Djgoldnboy

True, but if you look, his shoes are below the price most signature shoes are going for...I think I paid $90 for my D Wades....granted it's still $90, but less than a lot of the $100+ shoes that Nike push.

WashDCWarrior

Isn't Stephon Marbury out with inflamation of the heel?  Maybe you can't make a quality pair of shoes for $18.

Oh, that's hilarious.  I hadn't heard that...here's an article about it
