I really hope this board does not become an all hate on Buzz. Probably a lot to the story that we may or may not ever learn. TC was worthy of getting bashed on here and until given a real reason to dislike Buzz I cannot do that.

MU needs to buckle down and get a new coach that is of old BE capabilities and see what he can do. They cannot role dice on mid level guy this time IMO. Really hope as a fan, parent of two MU students and alum they get it right.

MU82

S16-S16-E8.

5 straight NCAAs.

A lot of good players to watch and a lot of fun being a fan during his time, especially his first five seasons.

I appreciated Crean for what he did, and I appreciate Buzz for what he did.

Buzz is a weird dude who had a mediocre final season at MU. He said some things that now make him look like a hypocrite, but what else is new? Coaches do that kind of crap all the time. Not excusing it, just stating fact.

And I agree entirely that we don't know the whole story yet, not even close.

Weird? TC being worthy of being bashed? OK. But Crean who is a prima donna, stayed 10 years and found what many would say was a top program.

Buzz Williams snookered many here, including you. He deserves to be bashed for what he did. And I suspect there is more damage on the way.

Where are the slurpers and the "In Buzz we trust" mantra mongers, now?

The downhome lonesome cowboy, the man of Buzzspeak, bolted as quick or even quicker than Crean, and that deserves special attention.

And if he was told to move on, then that is even more damaging goods on the guy. UNO and now MU.

What a dipstick!!!!

Totally agree, Goose. He may be odd, but I genuinely enjoyed having Buzz as our coach. I'll particularly miss his Postgame interviews.

Now let's go get a better one.

Goose - Please allow some time for Slurper bashing at least :)

Anyone still want to defend Buzz's rotations or his PG declared as a "game changer" - step right up...

Agree totally. In fact, there is part of me that feels sorry for Buzz. No one leaves $1 Million plus annually on the table and moves their family across the country unless they feel they have no choice. That's not a fun situation to be in for anyone.

The more I consider everything that we know and process it, the more I am confident this was a "quit/fire." As Buzz always said, he was the coach at Marquette for as long as they would have him. Apparently for whatever combination of reasons Buzz didn't feel Marquette would have him anymore. Buzz was done at Marquette and simply found a new job somewhere else while he still could. I'd put my confidence level at 98%.

Buzz did a lot for Marquette and our basketball program. This year's 17-15 stands in sharp contrast to his overall record. The Elite 8 alone last year is enough for him to get some leeway. Add in multiple NCAA bids with two Sweet 16s, several players in the NBA, and stuff like Buzz's Bunch, and he served us well while he was in Milwaukee.

Sic transit Gloria mundi. This too shall pass. Nothing lasts forever.

Good luck, Buzz.

Will Buzz be at the MU hoops award night?

I'll step up. I still think his rotations were the best of a bad situation.

But that's not what this thread is about. What you don't understand about the "slurpers" is that we don't have allegiance to one coach or another. We don't slurp Buzz. We slurp Marquette.

So In Buzz We Trust is dead. In __________ We Trust is very much alive!

Bingo.  If you coach MU, I support you, if not I give a rats ass about you.
