I think we can all agree that this season has been frustrating and maddening to watch. Did we as fans expect too much, even after the departures of Cadougan, Blue, and Lockett? Who knows, and I'm sure there are a number of boards that have discussed this over and over.

That said, while it's a stretch based on how inconsistent this team has been this year...I could see them winning 3 in a row in NYC next week. My confidence in that happening is maybe 20% since there are a lot of factors that will have to fall into this teams favor (playing the right teams, being in the right side of the bracket, the right players being consistent for more than a game at a time, etc.). Maybe the time is right, the "experts" are starting to write us off.

I think Buzz is a great coach and I'm glad he's on our bench and not another, but that said I think he does best when the "experts" write off his teams and he can put that chip on their shoulders. The last few years we were predicted to be a middle of the road BEast team and he had them coming in second and tied for first. Lazar's last year we had a legit shot at playing in the Sweet 16 or even Elite 8 because of how weak our bracket was. We were up big on Washington in the second half and then it all collapsed in the final 10 minutes. Butler's last year we were lucky to make it into the tourney and were supposed to be an easy out...tell that to Xavier and Syracuse. Two years ago it was Murray St and the fact that we were playing them in Lexington. Last year we had Davidson and Butler...the "experts" tabbed us as the 3 seed most likely to fall to a 14 and even if we made it out, we had weak odds of getting past Butler. Even Miami was supposed to easily handle us in the Sweet 16 because we couldn't shoot the 3 consistently.

When the "experts" say what this team can't do, Buzz puts that chip on their shoulder, and gets them to do something unexpected. Were the expectations too much this year? Did this team buy into the hype? Maybe, but I could see Buzz pushing the right buttons next week to get us into a Saturday night game. Mayo has the potential in him to have a Kemba Walker like week.

Who knows...maybe I'm just a die hard fan who refuses to give up on this team despite how inconsistent they've been since the first game and is looking for any kind of hope. It's March though...and I'll keep the hope until the book is closed on this season.

Ring Out Ahoya!!!

Nice positive post!

One easily could pick apart some of your thoughts and say, yes, you probably are a little crazy, but what the hell ... we are fans and we are allowed to be a little crazy sometimes.

I like it.  I also find myself thinking the same thing.

Hopefully they start treating each possession, on defense and offense, as the potential game winner. It's desparation time.

This team can't beat SJU at home.  Won't win the BET.  Stop fooling yourself.

I can admire positivity and if we were talking about teams from recent years I would agree...but there is absolutely positively zero data to support this belief. This team isn't good. They weren't good in Nov, Dec, Jan or Feb...and they have not been/will NOT be good in March

Uh it is now.  Between Derrick Wilson and Buzz's over coaching...it was doomed
