I won't be heartbroken if MU loses, as it will probably keep Xavier out of Dayton. I'd rather have the league cement a bid than have MU win and get slaughtered by Creighton again.
REALLY!!!!  You care more about the league than Marquette???  Holy crap

Stainbrook is out for the game. Not even sure if that's a good thing. Without looking it up, my recollection is that MU kind of abused the crap out of that guy. Should provide a rebound edge if nothing else.

It's definitely a good thing. Stainbrook went 7 and 8 against us at their place and 12 and 5 against us at ours. He was definitely an easy target for fouls though as he picked up 8 of them in the two games.

It also eliminates their largest player by far. Mack will be forced to split minutes at the 5 between 6"8 230 Philmore, 6"9 237 Farr, and 6"9 222 Reynolds. All of them are PFs not Cs. Davante should be able to eat them alive.

It will present an interesting challenge on defense though. Xavier will be able to run a Creighton like offense. They are small, fast, and they can all shoot the three. A lineup of D Davis, M Davis, Christon, Martin, and Farr would feature 5 players who shoot between 36% and 40.5% from three.

I said I won't be upset if MU loses because it will ultimately help cement Xavier as an at-large team. That's good for the league, and indirectly helps MU.

Let's face it, the chances of MU winning three in a row are minuscule. So if some good comes from a loss, I'm okay with it.

I predict this:

" To exaggerate the trend, I could see us winning, Georgetown winning, then getting whipped by Georgetown.  "

Relax Hayward. Please take a moment to reread the rules about personal attacks and try adhering to them moving forward.

Sorry if I get called out I'm going to respond. I don't like losing and want us to be good. If that's me not "drinking" koolaid I'll call it how I see it .

Guy is completely unable to formulate an objective opinion.

Wow - RC83 tries to bring a little positivity to the Board and this is your response?

I've done the same thing with multiple threads. Talking about jamil getting his two studs of game to pass last year and carry us. Or that we will win the BET(said this over a month ago)

Then he makes asinine jabs.

Though it's becoming clear 17-14 satisfies many on this board. It is pathetic.

The best part about this is that Real Chili anticipated this over-the-top reaction, and you played right into his hands. My god did you play into his hands.

And you played right into my hands.

Getting completely off topic from the thread as I still pound across the fact that this team is a let down that any knowledgeable and objective basketball fan can see.

I win again

Haywards, I was simply gigging you.  Sorry you didn't see the sarcasm and humor intended in my post.  I really meant it in jest. Apparently, Willie and Ners saw it for what it was intended as.

You are correct, there was nothing objective about my prediction.  Absolutely nothing.  My post was nothing more than a fan projecting a possible positive outcome for my team.  Can you tell I am also a life long Cubs fan too?   ;D

I modified it, and you can edit it to see what I did, but just use [ img width=600 ] as your starting tag.  Remove the spaces, and use whatever width in pixels you would like.
