I stumbled across the 1994 Sweet 16 game against Duke on YouTube earlier today and it made for interesting viewing. It's amazing how little I remember of that game (must say a lot about my college years).

A couple of observations:

-- It's too bad that Key got into early foul trouble.
-- No MU team since then has been better. Just watching the game I couldn't help but think that on a good day, the 1993-94 team was a national title contender (great size, excellent point guard, good shooters).
-- It reminded me how much I hate the bat-sh** crazy substitution patterns that MU has employed in recent years.

Where on youtube is it? Generally you'd post a link with it?

I agree.  That team was really strong defensively, solid ballhandling, great shooting.  Still my favorite MU team (maybe because they were my age ;) ;)

Now that its been a while, did you think it was a charge that wasn't called?  I always thought that non-call was a pivotal point in the game.

It was absolutely a charge.  Also, Eford couldn't hit the side of a barn.

The start to that game was awesome...too bad we couldn't keep it up.

Switch the names on the jerseys and it's a charge for sure.

Speaking of players from the '94 team....moderator, can you please move this image to the thread on 'Grant Gibbs' right underneath where Keefe is mocking Jay Bilas for lamenting lost youth? Except, where it says "Gucci loafers" can you cross that out and put "Argyle Pants"?

Watching this game now.   A bunch of future pros on this squad.  Jimmy Mac, McCaskill, Crawford.  Don't know if I am missing anyone.  Damon Key was one of my all time favorites.   Great team.  Thanks for the link.

I was 5 years old and at this game.  Don't remember much of it at all.  Was Glenn Robinson on Purdue at this time?  I seem to remember watching him play...

Well done. That was a nice team and a welcome change from the previous decade of mediocrity. We were fast becoming another Loyola until KO hit town.

He was. Scored like 49 points in the game following MU.  Don't remember who they played.  Was Cuonzo (sp?) Martin on that Purdue team?

From his form to his goofiness, I still can't stand Eford.

Todd Townsend, to me, was the second coming of Rodney: tweeners who never excelled at anything but carried out what the coach said.

Well except for the 2003 team that went to the final four.  They were better.

I was at that game in Knoxville. Very depressing because I agree we were good but somehow not good enough that night. Coach K is a wonderful coach and did a great job against us.

I was there, all I remember is Roney Eford getting good shots and missing, to bad, Roney lived on my street a couple of years ago and was really a nice guy.  Fun to talk to, went back to
New York.  Grant Hill was pretty good, but Glen Robinson was the man at that regional.
