Scouting Report: Lobos full of star power, short on depth

It's finally here. As much fun as Ohio State coming to the Bradley Center was (supposed to be), as intriguing as it was watching different philosophies collide at the Kohl Center against Wisconsin and as much as we're all looking forward to the "new" Big East, tonight may be the most fun matchup on Marquette's [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=painttouches.com&blog=28348875&post=10117&subd=painttouches&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />

We R Final Four

This game scares me.  Shocked to see MU -2.5 There will be a huge NM fan base in Vegas tonight.  I hope you are right regarding Buzz having the defensive game plan to stop these guys.  Watching the NM/Kansas game, Bairstow can do it all (shoot, rebound and interior passing) and 7 footers are always a nightmare for us.

I'm betting that buzz is going to try and disrupt passes into the post by pressuring the perimeter.  New Mexico is starting a freshman PG (the coach's son, Neal) with Greenwood out.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I agree with you; here's my three keys:

1) MU guards' defense, particularly Derrick
2) Davante's offense, particularly his position on Kirk for the entry pass
3) Jamil's offense, particularly his ability to hit some step-back 2's and 3's

I actually have a good feeling about this one. I think Derrick Wilson is going to win some hearts back tonight with his defense. It will be interesting to see how MU defends their big guys. Go Warriors, Ring Out Ahoya.......

I think if given the choice we should focus on stopping the two big guys.

Let Williams get his. Hopefully at least 1 of Kirk or bairstow get in foul trouble and we keep them out of Rythmn.

Stopping easy buckets and second chances is huge.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I'd like to see a good amount of that extended man press and 1-3-1 trapping zone we worked on a bit against the last two cupcakes.
