Palacios may redshirt after latest injury

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville forward Juan Palacios, a three-year starter for the Cardinals, injured his right knee Saturday morning in the team's second official practice of the season.

The early diagnosis was a sprained MCL and depending on the severity of the injury, Palacios may redshirt this season, coach Rick Pitino said.
Palacios, a 6-8, 250-pound senior from Medellin, Colombia, has started 85 games for Louisville but has also been plagued by injuries. He missed games with eye and foot injuries in his first two seasons, then sat out five of the team's final seven games last season with a back injury.

"I've seen it all with him for the past four years and this looks like the worst (injury) of all," Pitino said. "If it's a real serious sprain where he's going to be out two months, I'll redshirt him."

That would be a significant blow for Louisville, a consensus top-10 preseason pick. The Cardinals return their top seven scorers from last year's team, which went 24-10 and lost to Texas A&M in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The injury occurred late in practice when teammate Terrance Farley took a charge and fell into Palacios

yaa, you never want to see a player go down so early, but if he does red shirt this year, it helps MUs chance of winning the BE

that guy is a good player...but he seems to be very injury prone, i dont wish injury upon anyone, but i dont mind not seeing him for another year if this is true
