My vitals:

Fall of '93-Spring of '97
KO for my freshman year
$1.25 RWB's

FLM (Favorite 'Lance Moment):

Drinking at the there my junior year after we beat #3 Memphis on CBS.  More alums than students, just packed.  It's about 4pm and sun is coming in thru those dirty translucent windows.  I knew MU Hoops was a special thing because I was surrounded by alums of all ages in absolute heaven celebrating a huge January ('96) game.

Wow.  I never knew that light could penetrate the windows at the 'Lanche.

Not a spammer....just fond memories.  Not a big poster. And like many of the people from the "Glory Days",  I never used Twitter, I think a # sign is called a number sign not a hashtag, think people are crazy for posting their life on Facebook, hate the thought of being able to be contacted every minute of every day......and I'm certain that "Airplane" was the best comedy ever made even after watching it 4000 times.  Oh yeah, and I spent too many early Sunday mornings walking down 11 floors of stairs on a false fire alarm....and quite a few long cold treks to the Mecca.

And now I'm gray and fat but much more secure with myself then I was living with sixty or so 18 year old freshmen in the room the shape of a pizza pie.

Well stated. You might give keefe a run for his money with your poetry.

By the way, what year did the lanche close?

WarriorFan

I had the privilege of being at the 'lanche both on the last night bottles were served and on the night of the last naked beer slide.  It's a pity these things are no longer socially acceptable.  Plastic cups?  wtf?

'97.  That whole year the 'Lanche was kinda crapty, imo.  They took fake IDs from me and about 15 of my friends in the Fall and closed in the Spring.

I wince every time I walk past Jimmy John's. and think of Wales on Wells, then again as I pass the next door in the building as the ghost of the Lanche wants to pull me in.

To this day, I cannot hear the Velvet Underground's "Rock and Roll" without thinking of The Lanche. I swear, that song came on the jukebox every three songs.

What happened to Wales?  My wife and I were at Marquette a couple weekends ago on a tour with our daughter and we were explaining to the kids how good the burgers, cheese fries and shakes were.  Does anybody why didn't Wales open up a new location?

When I was there they had an article in the student paper about it, "the only bar you can go to with a dollar in your pocket, have 6 beers and leave with change"
