I have to laugh at the comments that I knew some inside information on this...uhm yeah, that "inside information" came from an ability to read the Milwaukee Journal, the Milwaukee Sentinel, the Marquette Tribune at the time.    

I do find that someone finds it "asinine" for me to bring up what happened to his father (for which I actually applauded the father for getting it together...DOH) and we have people here doing this stuff ALL THE TIME in a malicious manner (which mine was not).  Anyone want to go down memory lane for Todd Mayo recruitment as it related to brother OJ?  How about we go down memory lane on Vander's or Maymon's.  Or how about we go down memory lane just examining how folks here treat former coaches, etc...you know their kids might read the board.   

Hmmm....one treatment for the masses here, another treatment because a certain person said it (and we'll just ignore that everything he said was 100% truthful).  LOL.  The hypocrisy here at times is amazing.

I've been a visitor to the board for about 8 months.  Many scoopers have relatively normal (albeit frustrating) exchanges with Chico's, but my perception is there are about a half a dozen Scoopers who seem to just wait for Chico's to post  and attack anything he says.  I have this vision of a bunch of hecklers sitting and working on their material and waiting for a hated comedian to appear on stage.

Some comedians love hecklers, and I suspect Chico loves the attention, and also loves baiting them as much as they love going after him.

I've been a visitor to the board for about 8 months.  Many scoopers have relatively normal (albeit frustrating) exchanges with Chico's, but my perception is there are about a half a dozen Scoopers who seem to just wait for Chico's to post  and attack anything he says.  I have this vision of a bunch of hecklers sitting and working on their material and waiting for a hated comedian to appear on stage.

Some comedians love hecklers, and I suspect Chico loves the attention, and also loves baiting them as much as they love going after him.

I also believe that other posters fail to adequately value the amount of original information that CCB provides, as well as the fact that many Scoopers call for CCB to contribute whenever they have a question regarding cable TV.

When you have the two on 'ignore', all you have to worry about is people quoting them.    It makes the board much more tolerable.

I pray to God when one of my kids are at the age to pick a college that no one brings up what Avenue Commons was like at 20-22 years old. It wasn't great. Nothing awful, but if I had to read about it on some Internet message board, I'd not be thrilled.

If I'm this kid's dad, I'd be wondering why people are talking about stuff from 25 years ago and not the fact that I raised a 14 year old who got a full ride to a high major hoops program.

I think you hit a lot of it on the head, especially in paragraph 2.  Been that way for a long time.  One person can  say X, Y, Z....followed by 10 more.  Then all it takes is about 3 or 4 people to say it that dare not to be 100% Kool Aid drinkers and the sharks can't help it.  SJS attacked all the time and he's smart as a whip.  BMA was attacked.  I'm attacked.  Etc.  It's not what you say, it's who says it.  Put those same comments but under a different name....not a boo is made.  Funny to watch.

Yes, they definitely love going after certain individuals.  Hey, I'm wrong many times, happy to admit it.  For some of these guys, in 5+ years they have never admitted to being wrong once.  It is what it is.

I say the same thing when I read comments here about our former head coach, about Vander's dad, Maymon's dad, etc....truly vicious attacks (unlike the comment I made).  Yet, it is rare if I ever hear anyone stand up to those comments.

Here's the difference...as far as we know, Mike Flory isn't running into the Al McGuire Center demanding that the head coach of a high major Division 1 basketball program uses his freshman son in the way that he and his son want him to use him.  He's not sitting in the stands screaming at coaches and refs.  He (as you so vividly pointed out) had some academic issues early in his college years and figured it out.  That has nothing to do with the outcome of his son's basketball career like Tim Maymon did on his son.  Tim Maymon was clearly a knucklehead who in many ways screwed over Jeronne.  Mike Flory has not screwed over his son.
