Still no Vander

Sorry Pal--read--I did not start the 5 page thread. Don't read the posts or push the ignore button. There are some guys that think Otule is the real deal, based on what I do not know.

Here's a new thread for you. Who will turn out to be a better pro--Otule or McIlvane. McIlvane could not handle the NBA, even though he did get more than a cup of coffee. If McIlvane could not last, what makes some people think that Otule will? But the Heat do need a stopper--and by some accounts, Otule is the man!

Come on.. for all the grief that McIlvaine got as his NBA career went on (he still managed to play for 7 years in the league)- we forget how great of a college player he was.  His senior year he averaged nearly 14pts, more than 4 blocks, and more than 8 rebs a game.  He was the National Defensive Player of the Year!  He is still in the top 25 for NCAA career blocks..
I love Otule, but you simply can't compare him talentwise to big Mac...

Yes, I guess negative nabobs want to pretend Vander's junior season -- capped by stupendous stuff against St. John's, Davidson, Butler and Miami -- didn't happen. Jeesh.

Having said that, I also don't think Vander is an NBA talent. Would love to be proved wrong because I appreciate what he did for us this season. Our best player, and it wasn't even close.

Really unfortunate. Hoping for the best but looks like he got some really bad information somewhere along the line. This is Jereme Richmond all over again.

A rather pedestrian showing at the combine didn't help.  He proved he was athletic and that's about it.

To be fair to Vander, I think he proved he has elite athleticism (for this class).

Now, it's still going to take a GM to want to draft a combo guard project, but it could happen.

More likely: He goes undrafted, goes to the d-league, and eventually finds a roster spot as a mid-season replacement.

This does happen every so often, but it's a tough road. Just as Jerel.

Unlike the majority here - I think - I expect Vander to go by the middle of the 2nd round.

Hey, I am not saying that Otule is McIlvane. I threw it out there as a comparison to see others thoughts. If some think Otule compares favorably to Hibbert, then perhaps they think Otule compares favorably to McIlvanr.

Sorry Brew, but my post did not lead to a 5 page is what strippers twirl around and a thread is the string that goes through the eye of a needle--I don't know. I guess I would say the same to you--if you are so critical of what was posted, don't bother to read it. And I am sorry that my "post" was not placed in the right thread.
