Was there social media back then?  No.  Was KO winning?  Yes.

Agreed.  That's why I said thank God there were no cell phones around with cameras back then.  People can be outraged at this stuff, as they should be, but to think it wasn't going on at a lot of places to some extent, or some form, is naive.
