It's so cute when you try to imply I'm fat. It's creepy, though, that you're picturing what my backside looks like.

MU doesn't have a single first team all conference player. That's a fact. When people talk about a talent deficiency they talk about top end talent. Game changing talent. Porter is an example of that talent. We don't have that, plain and simple.

You sound like you need a hug.

Anyone who suggests Marquette lacks talent is wrong. The guy from GU correctly points out Marquette has plenty of talent. We are arguably the deepest team in the conference. we may not have the best 5 but we certainly have the best 10.

You made a snide comment about Buddhism. You are an ignorant jackass. What else do you find funny?

Nope, I referenced Carly Simon's song about you, "You're So Vain."

And you once again have proven my point on the topic.

No, you didn't. What's your next joke about...Jews?

"Your scarf, it was apricot." Directly from the lyrics.

I've referenced this song about you on multiple occasions.

In general I would agree, but a comment like "I think Marquette's lack of talent is completely fabricated" is clearly trolling for a reaction.  It would have been the equivalent of us going over to GU's boards, had the tables been turned, and saying "JT3 was lucky that he had Porter - without him, this team clearly would have sucked."  Which would have absolutely have been trolling, IMO.

I'm just calling the comment for what it was.

I doubt many GU fans would disagree that the Hoyas are lucky to have Porter. What program wouldn't be lucky to have a first team all-american. Without him, the Hoyas certainly would've had a worse record.

And yes, I think Marquette's lack of talent is completely fabricated.  ;)

Where is bama when you need him to calculate out how much Porter contributed to GU's season...?

Great posts from Georgetown fans!  Keep it coming guys!

I don't hate the JTIII pick for COY, I just think that Buzz did more with less.

I guess we have a couple more games to continue our coach's dick-measuring contest :)

It's possible we could play each other in the Final. A few years ago it came to that but I recall they smoked us.

    http://valueaddbasketball.com/

Porter checks in at the #2 overall player in the country for Value-Add, behind Trey Burke. Davante Gardner is the highest for MU at #45.

There's a fairly even mix after those two between the two teams.

Let's see if I can summarize the arguments

    Georgetown

    • Slightly harder schedule
    • Overachieved from preseason
    • Graduated top three scorers
    • Did this with a fairly young team
    • Adjusted after the loss of Whittington

    Marquette

    • Lost BE POY and 1st team player
    • Picked to finish lower than GU preseason
    • Tied Georgetown despite not having BE POY
    • Team effort on results. No players on 1st team BE
    • Since it was clear Porter would win POY, fairness would suggest Buzz get COY since it's so close

I understand the argument for JT3. I also think Buzz lost more, didn't have the luxury of POY, and overachieved relative to preseason expectations. Of course, I'M A MARQUETTE FAN AND THIS IS A MARQUETTE MESSAGE BOARD.

edit: I thought of one additional point regarding the COY selection and added it. Spare me any comments about life not being fair.

Interesting .. I'm watching Inside MU BB .. Krause asked Buzz, "Including yourself, who are you voting for COY"?

Buzz: Ed Cooley.  I won't win COY.  I'll never win COY.  (Because?) I don't participate in the appropriate relationships, political things, it's not in my nature .. I have no edge in saying this, not why I do this.  Ed Cooley, they were picked last, yadda yadda.

.. I voted for Mike Brey the first 4 years because I admire how he handles things.  I can't handle things as politically correct as he does.

Very insightful into the psyche of Buzz. Very self aware guy.

Now we know to never think he'll win  ;)

Buzz will never win...they dont like him. He knows it. Its that simple.

whoever postulated the vote was probable razor close is wrong. Buzz was probably down the list...i'll guess 4th. Why? they dont like him.

Dont get me wrong, Buzz Williams was the best coach in the BE, without question, in my mind. And JT3 was real good.

They just simply dont like him and its not fair....and life goes on.

Why don't other coaches like Buzz? I get he's different and doesn't hob nob but that doesn't translate into not well liked.

Mick Cronin is one of his long term friends.  So is Brey.  Purnell and Buzz are friendly and so is Kevin Ollie.  Huggy had Buzz on his radio program.  Who doesn't like him?

More like the Big East has the best coaches and the choice is a tough one.

I heard he and Cronin are tight and it's obvious he and Brey are buds. Buzz is a neat guy. Too bad he doesn't drink a lot. He'd be a hoot to watch with a bladder full of alcohol.

Agreed .. no idea why coaches wouldn't like him, beside perhaps him not going out to the bar and drinking with em.

In all seriousness, is there a more respectful coach out there?  He's constantly praising other coaches.

Agree, but I do think with MU being that school way out west, the Big East is very East Centric. Hope this changes as we go forward.
