I am the farthest thing from an ND fan, but IMO it is good business to accommodate them for a year.  Keep the relationship strong and it may pave the way for an MU home and home.   Also, if things do fall apart in the ACC down the road, we might make the most sense for ND's Olympic sports.  The BE/C7 is much better with ND in the conf.
