We can play Dav and Outle together only because of Jamil's  skill set...

I think this may be the key.  Everyone seems to be playing zone this year.  Having two centers who can both score from the post - the way a zone has to defend that - I think gives Marquette its best zone offense.  Maybe by far.

So if you have Wilson, Vander and Cadougan + the two centers you have two good 3 point scorers and two good post scorers and a great distributor.

Can this 5 play great zone defense?

That line up might be able to do serious damage in the tournament IMO...

I agree it is exciting to think of the possibilities that this line up could bring.  The question I have is do we have offensive sets that will allow both to play for any period of time.

I don't know if I would use the word good to describe our 3 point scorers or CO as a good post scorer.  Maybe adequate, improving, sufficient.?

If Chris continues to draw attention in the post with respect to scoring, this certainly will help everything else.

It could work if Jamil takes advantage of the mid-range jumper. Blue seems to be the only player utililizing the 15 footer consistently. For everyone else, it's either a 3 pointer or lay-up taken.

Buzz also mentioned something like they only gave up 1 basket when the "big" line up was on the floor. So yes they seem to play some good D.

MU will have to zone with those two on the floor at the same time.   Going forward, Steve Taylor at the hgih post against the zone is going to be a lot of fun to watch the next few years.   He really gets that to beat the zone, you want the ball there.   And when you get the ball there, make a play.

Our best 5 on the floor always involves Vander, Todd and Jamil. Seriously doesn't matter if they are "on their game" or not. If Todd and Jamill are aggressive and into the game we are a damn good team. Allows for guys like Trent and Junior to be much more efficient taking smart shots. Mayo doesn't even have to hit threes(would be nice) the threat alone just kills teams when he's aggressive.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I'd like an MU best 5 without Cadougan on the floor (and that's not a knock on Cadougan), but being as you need a point guard, him with some combination of the the 5 you mentioned on the floor. And Lockett in there in place of one of those 5 doesn't concern me anywhere close to as much as it did a few weeks ago. Taylor is a good 8th guy. Anderson and D Wilson are role guys. Summary - getting to the point where I'm pretty comfortable with any of 8 guys on the floor. If you can find the right combinations, that's the kind of versatility that can do some serious damage in March.
GO WARRIORS!

After the SH game, it looks like this can only be a situational thing. Trying to make Gardner rush out to cover a 3-point shooter is begging to be lit up. Against other teams, though, this could be great.

Only problem is, they can only be out there for a few minutes at a time, and agree with others, can work against poor shooting teams, but a team that can make 3s would feast against that zone.
