If I was playing against Marquette, I would apply full court pressure as much as I could.  We have lots of trouble with it every time.

As for the game, if we shoot like that, we will be very tough to beat.  Great offense for 37 minutes.

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Who can complain about 3 minutes of "oh god"?

Nice.

I really, REALLY hope this is a preview of how we're going to finish out this season.

Duh.

Does this really need a poll?

Well, based on it not being, duh, 100% response for today's game....it appears so.   ;)

Stretchdeltsig

Yes.  Today's game was the best game of the year for Marquette.  All the players played well.

Best game is Pitt on the road. We always play good at home.

Anyone know what the official attendance was? The BC was bumpin' for the whole game.

First half today was one of the best I've ever seen an MU team play. Pitt is a top 5 team according to the sabermatricians and they came in on a roll. They played solid ball in the first 20 minutes but we were nearly flawless. Those here who think Vander's a longshot to make an NBA roster some day might want to start back peddling.

Haven't seen many that said he's a longshot some day.  Seen plenty, including myself, that he is a huge longshot after this season.  He looked great today...the other day against G'Town when he scored 7 points...not so great.  He needs to become more consistent, which he should with another year.

Think Buzz had it right  - our best home game so far is Pitt and our best road game so far is Pitt.  Best we played was today though.  @USF was a good game, but it was as much a bad team that was completely horrendous that night as our team playing well.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Fantastic game and, yes, probably our best of the year. But I'd put our home game vs Georgetown near the top, too.

If we shoot like this in the tournament, we will have a chance to go very, very far.

Everything seems better -- even the defense -- when a team shoots well.

I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical with this team, even after our fast start in the BE.  I thought we would end up 9-9 or 10-8.  Starting to come around.  The biggest difference is when Mayo and JWil show up.  This is a completely different team when they contribute.   Without those two contributing we are a slightly better than average team.  When they come to play, MU is a top 15 team.

100% correct. When shots fall it's all good. That said, our offense hummed today, and the looks we got against an outstanding defense were excellent.

Mine complains about 30 seconds.  3 minutes she is fine with.

Most guys who are huge longshots after their junior years enter their senioryear the same way.

I don't agree.  Steve Novak was not a NBA player his junior year, he became one his senior year.

Chris Crawford was not a NBA player his junior year, he became one his senior year.

Wes Matthews, same.  (not a longshot to become a NBA player, but he wasn't one his junior year).  That's also why he wasn't drafted.

Amal McCaskill, same.

Travis Diener, same.

Jae Crowder, same.

Jimmy Butler, same.

Lazar Hayward, same.

That's just at MU.  Think about all the other schools.  Very few MU players in the pros right now were dubbed their junior years as being NBA ready or realistic NBA players. It wasn't until their senior seasons that they emerged. I hope Vander is the same way, because he isn't NBA caliber today, in his junior year, much like the former MU guys above weren't either.
