Clam Crowder

Unbelievable that we won a game in which we shot so poorly from 3 especially against a pretty solid UCONN team. They're not as good as they have been but still that was an amazing win with such a poor shooting performance.

TexMex

Pros: We can win games against decent teams even when we shoot 12% from 3.
Cons: We are capabable of shooting 12% from 3.

Hopefully this was just a fluke and a few more start falling from deep.

What struck me about Uconn was how thin their players were. They must not believe in lifting weights. They will be abused in Big East.

CTWarrior

I'm so used to seeing UConn have more talented, NBA-bodied big men than they knew what to do with over the last 15-20 years.  Weird to see us have the more physical interior guys.
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

IMO when a team overcomes a negative "outlier" stat it's a good sign. Shows that there's at least some margin for error.

MUWarrior4Life

Did anyone notice Phillip Nolan out there for UCONN? He picked up some early fouls, and sat a good majority of the game.

I think Ollie played Nolan cause he was in his hometown.  The Boatright family sitting behind me was questioning why he even saw the floor.

RushmoreAcademy

Did UConn hit any first half 3's?  I didn't see the half by half break down, but I felt like they were as cold as we were in that first half, even on the wide open looks.

The stat that was nicely in our favor was that we shot 16 more free throws than they did.

Agree.  I never remember MU being more dominant in the middle than UConn.  It was a strength of the game and anytime DG got the ball in deep enough I was confident he could score or get to the line.

Yes, they hit 2 or 3 3-pointers in the 1st half.

Thankfully, MU was playing a high major high school frontcourt but not sure we'll see that again this season.

As to your second point, it seemed clear to anyone in the building or watching on television that Gardner was feasting and yet somehow MU continued to jack up 3s in awkward spots when a dump down would've returned control to the Warriors.
