24. Jamil Wilson, 6-7, 225, F, Jr., Marquette
Had his moments last season, but was a role guy behind Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom. Now he has the chance to see his role expand after averaging 7.1 points and 4.1 boards a year ago for Buzz Williams.

Agreed, I'm expecting big things out of him.  He has all the tools to be a stud.

This is a good pick but I am going to stick by my guy Vander Blue on this... we'll see. Both from Winconsin and both play to win.

I would be elated to see either one of them challenge for Big East Players of the Year and see the team do well enough to win the whole darn thing.

Tall order but it can happen...this year or certainly NEXT. Junior year for both are crucial. Especially for Blue.

lets get it going! Go Jamil Wilson!

I think the big key will be if everyone else can stay relatively healthy so he can play more of his natural position.

People forget that Jamil was RSCI ranked 13th in his class at one point, over everyone who would be in the BE. Clearly has the most tools of anyone on the MU team.  He was hidden out of position playing the 5 last season from the public eye. However, this made him a stronger player as it forced him to play inside, as he had fallen too much in love with the perimeter previous to that. He is primed and driven to be that star, and I don't think any MU fan will be surprised.

High expectations for Jamil on this front. I find him to be one of the best blessed athletes/players to come to MU in many years. In addition, he really is a great kid.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Never met him, but agree about his talent. Love watching him play.

I'd love for Jamil to be the leading scorer, but that would probably mean he's hitting threes.

We need him in the post with the put backs or stretching the D with the 15-20 foot jumpers (but not 3 pters) or gimmes at the FT line.
