Since Darius Johnson Odom didn't make the Lakers roster, what's the next move?  Is he an unrestricted free agent?  Do the Lakers still have the rights to him in the d-league?

How many 2nd round picks end up playing for the team they were drafted to after being sent down to the D-League?

I'm sorry I'm not bringing any information to the table, but I figured there's a few NBA D-League gurus here...
I haven't read much since he didn't make the team.  I think we'll see him in the league this year though.

swoopem

My bet is that he gets invited to some training camps (picks one thats best for him) and has to impress some people there. I don't know when invitations are sent out or even when camps begin but that's what I think will happen.
Bring back FFP!!!

Camps begin in early October and some undrafted players have already gotten invites. I would expect some news on DJO's invite in the next couple weeks.

I know the Lakers did not offer him a contract. I do not follow the NBA, but does not having a contract mean he is done trying out for the Lakers?

I would assume they can still invite him to camp for more evaluation.

Thanks to the Kate Upton clip, you brought more than enough to the table.

Grateful for all that DJO did at MU, but the guy simply is not an NBA player.

I mean no disrespect. Lots of great college players -- greater players than DJO -- haven't made it in the NBA. There's no shame in not being one of the 450 best basketball players in the world.

Get him into the right situation and he can have some years in the league.

Sure, the height and lack of a handle aren't sexy but the wingspan (6'6"-6'7" for a 6'2"!?!), speed, vert, stroke, and strength are ideal for the NBA.
