i know we have maui in november and @ UW in December. What's the rest of the known schedule at this point?

Sir Lawrence

Wow Hoosier--I often lose track of time, but you must be referring to the 07-08 schedule, or I just woke up to Ground Hog Day.
Ludum habemus.

06-07, 07-08, they're all the same, both loaded with delaware states and eastern michigans. thats for another day though. forgot about the wiki schedule

If it's all the same why ask the question?

Knowing that MU is playing in Maui and away to Madison, it's not hard to figure out that 12 of their non-conference home games aren't going to be rocking affairs and knowing them in July isn't going to make it any more interesting.

muhoosier260

i guess i was just curious. i'll remember to have something breaking and interesting the next time I post coobey, i.e. OT apple iphones, chris benoit's death, or mj in cabo

I'm interested .. while we know the 2 exhibition games will be cupcakes .. this year will have more high interest games, for sure.

2 exhibitions .. 9-10 OOCs.  1 of those is @UW, 1 is UWM.  1 Might be UWGB.  At least one of the 3 B&G teams will be semi-quality.  We can hope there'll be 1 new Home/Home announced, because now that Valpo was closed, we have zero outside UW.

So that leaves 4-5 Delaware States.  How many were last year, 9?  10?  .. there'll be for sure two less because of +2 BE games.

ecompt

the roster says Acker is a junior, but doesn't he have three years of eligibility left?
And already we're starting with the rips at the schedule, even though we could conceivably play Pitt, Georgetown, UConn, Louisville, Notre Dame, West Virginia and Syracuse at home? On top of Maui, we will likely have an SOS of no higher than 15 when all is said and done. That's not enough?

Acker is a RS Soph, not a junior.   Also looking at the wiki I do not believe that UWGB signed the deal to play us or if they did - it does not start next year.  There was an article when the whole UW-M thing was going on that GB didn't want to play us this upcoming season because they had too many good teams on the schedule already.

I still don't see any of those games as rocking atmospheres. They might not all be dogs but I don't have tickets for November/December. I have them for the Big East.

The extra Big East game may not help as much as we think. It'll take away a team like Valpo or Northwestern State rather then Morgan State or Elon.

Also, I just don't think the UWM game is going to be that interesting. Yes, they are back on the court facing off but it seems to me that UWM may still be in the process of getting it all together with their new faces and with MU not having that kind of issue it may get ugly. I also don't think it will be a sellout.

Maybe, maybe not.  Clearly, Morgan State is the LAST phone call you make, after Valpo and Xavier have told you no-can-do.

Does the BE season _start_ earlier?  If no, that means there's still umpteen days in Nov/Dec to pick from to get in a higher-interest team.

Marquette is 34-0 against UWM and 7-2 vs UW-GB... Marquettes record vs every team can be found here

If there was only one extra game it would stand to reason that they'd take the bye week away and add the game. Since there are two extra games, you'd have to think they'd put one in the last week of December since I doubt they'll be able to fit it in during early March.

As for the non-conference game don't get me wrong in thinking that I don't want a Valpo or such. I just think knowing Crean's style we may see those kinds of mid-majors off the table in favor of a low-major.

mu_hilltopper

I had to giggle at "low major" .. I didn't know we had that new category.  It's like explaining to your parents the D+ grade you got is a "high D, real close to a low C".

I'll agree .. I'll bet they play one BE game late December, then just jack in 1 more game somewhere between Jan and mid-March.
